Our client is recruiting for a fantastic opportunity as a Surface Mount Operator within an industry leading electrical manufacturing company.

The Surface Mount Operator will be responsible for assisting with the running of the SMT Production Line. Other responsibilities will include setting up, programming and running Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machines, operating and profiling reflow machines, quality controls and the general housekeeping of the production process.

Ideal candidate must be able to work within a team, be computer literate and self-motivated

Responsibilities

•   General running and maintenance of the Surface Mount Machines

•   Correct and safe use of printing equipment, reflow oven and automated optical inspection machine (AOI)

•   Meet Company targets in Production and Quality

•   Continual improvement of Surface Mount Productivity

•   SMT experience required but further training will be given to assist with knowledge gaps

•   Working to tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy

•   Must be reliable, conscientious and hard working

•   Experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be preferential

•   Ability to work as part of a team

The ideal candidate for the Surface Mount Operator role will have at least 1 years’ experience within an SMT Production environment.

Salary : Negotiable and can include a relocation package for the right candidate

Hours : Mon-Thurs 8-5pm & Fri – 8-2.30pm

Uniform: provided with ESD shoes and T-shirts only

The Role

They are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Wiring Technician to join the team. In this role, you'll be responsible for assembling and wiring control panels, harnesses, and electrical components to the highest standards. You’ll work from technical drawings and collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to bring our systems to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
• Assemble and wire control panels, junction boxes, and enclosures
• Loom and terminate cables neatly and accurately
• Perform continuity testing and basic fault finding
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
• Adhere to health and safety standards at all times
• Support quality control checks and final system testing
• Liaise with the engineering team to resolve build issues or technical queries

Required Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a wiring or electrical assembly role
• Proficiency in reading and understanding technical diagrams
• Strong soldering, crimping, and cable preparation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and neatness in wiring work
• Comfortable using hand tools and electrical test equipment
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Desirable

• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 wiring standards

Test Technician

Utilising core and advanced filter technologies as well as their integration in higher level sub-assemblies for the latest rf and microwave products to connect and protect people in defence, communications, aerospace and space

Experience:

• Experience of working in a manufacturing or engineering role.
• Use of microscopes, analysers, small hand tools, scalpels.
• Building circuit boards, building PCs, model making, taking items apart and putting them back together again.
• Knowledge of RF/transmission line theory.
• Reading and applying data.
• Reading and applying diagrams.

PCB Inspector

Our client is a successful Electronics Manufacturing company based in Bridgwater, Somerset and we are looking to appoint a third PCB Inspector

The PCB Inspector will be required to visually inspect assembled PCB's and Electronic Assemblies to ensure that they meet quality standards and our customers requirement

Duties/tasks will include.

• Inspect PCBs to IPC-A-610, class 3 to ensure quality of product using the latest magnification equipment, AOI & Xray
• Liaise with Production
• Assist and support Production Technicians by discussing faults and findings to include Internal Training of the Team
• Manage and resolve inspection queries and raising NCR’s as applicable
• Monitor build, quality and report quality issues as necessary.
• Action rework as necessary

PCB Inspector - other skills/knowledge required.

• Understand component identification codes such as resistors, capacitors and ICs
• Able to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOM)
• Previous inspection and assembly experience to IPC-A-610 class 2 minimum desirable
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time on repetitive tasks
• Able to work effectively to deadlines
• Demonstrates proactive approach
• Good communication skills
• Dexterity, Good Hand and Eye coordination
