Position Summary:

 

 

  1. The core reason for this role is to carry out the manufacture and assembly of LED luminaires to the highest quality in line with our clients and the company’s expectations and to the scheduled timescales provided by Production Manager.
  2. Key objectives of the position are to help identify & improve efficiencies and maintain quality levels throughout this dept, providing the Production Manager with the necessary support to complete orders in good time and to ensure the smooth running of this dept without delays.

Key Accountabilities

 

 

Indicators of Effectiveness

  • LED Assembly
  1. Assembly of high-quality LED luminaires & components, including soldering to IPC standard follow all builds as per issued SOP’s, Works Order instructions & drawings
  2. Supports company in line with monthly Production targets as per Monday 7.30am Production meeting
  3. Follows company Lean and 5S principles and supports/suggests changes and improvements to improve efficiency/quality & reduces costs
  4. Always keep work benches and work areas clean and tidy in line with 5S Responsibilities
  5. Test and QC duties during production & final luminaire testing stage including sign off on works order
  6. Record all information on SFDC where possible or on Works Order documents
  7. Completes Works Orders within planned times shown on Works Order
  8. Takes photographs as required for record purposes
  9. Returns un-used or spare materials back to Team Leader for placing back into stock or Red Tagging
  10. Reduce waste on all parts

 

KPI – No re-works or failures from site

KPI Products made within the allocated WO times

KPI – Lean and 5S compliance

KPI Accurate logging of time on SFDC

  • Engineering Dept
  1. Supports production with accurate cutting, drilling, tapping (small works) of component parts in line with production when required
  2. Always keep work benches and work areas clean and tidy in line with 5S Responsibilities
  3. Works under guidance/supervision from Engineer (BM) whilst in this department
  4. Return un-used or spare materials back to Team Leader for placing back into stock or Red Tagging

KPI – No re-works needing extra materials/costs

KPI – Products made within allocated WO times

KPI – Lean and 5S compliance

KPI – Accurate logging of time on all works orders

  • General Duties

 

  1. Follows all company Process’s and provides suggestions for continual improvements
  2. Responsible for clocking in/out and working times on company system via own personal tablet daily
  3. Attends 7.30am Monday Production Meeting with Team
  4. Always follows health & safety rules/guidelines.
  5. Always keep general factory areas clean and tidy
  6. Tidy up after every task completed & leave area/equipment tidy for the next user
  7. Carries out accurate stock checks when required with the team
  8. Collections & deliveries as and when required using company vehicles
  9. Supports outside activities such as installations, site visits, surveys and call outs as per company requirements
  10. Carry out packing to our process/method as instructed if/when required
  11. Responsible for looking after own tools as supplied by the company
  12. Takes care of all company property during use
  13. Removes faulty or dangerous equipment from use and reports to Production Manager
  14. Notify Team Leader of any components/stock running low on stock – KANBAN Cards

  • Academic/Technical Qualifications

  1. IPC trained in soldering
  2. GCSE qualifications Maths & English

  • Knowledge and Experience
  1. LED knowledge in components and drivers (2-3yrs)

 

  • Computer Skills
  1. Microsoft Office/ERP – not essential

 

  • Industry Experience

 

  1. LED assembly (min 2-3yrs experience)
  2. Ability to use hand & power tools, for drilling & cutting Aluminium profiles to a competent, safe level
  • Leadership/Management experience/capabilities

  2. Able to work under own supervision if required
