Workshop Machinist – Miller/ Turner

Location: West Horndon, Essex, United Kingdom

Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 per annum

Permanent Position

The hiring company are currently seeking an experienced, time-served Workshop Machinist (Miller & Turner) to manufacture high-quality, precision-engineered parts at their Essex workshop.

Package:

The successful applicant will have the following profile:

• Relevant knowledge, training, and experience working in a machining environment.

• Time-served with qualifications such as ONC, HNC, NVQ, or equivalent in a mechanical engineering discipline.

• Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently, but also adaptable to work as part of a team.

• Good physical fitness to meet the demands of the role.

• A positive, flexible outlook and approach to work.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Proficient in reading engineering drawings to produce parts and components.

• Calculating dimensions and tolerances using mathematical knowledge and measuring instruments.

• Machining parts to pre-determined specifications using a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, machining centres, borers, grinders, and pedestal/radial drills.

• Ability to work to very high tolerances and maintain a high standard of quality.

• Strong attention to detail, with an emphasis on health and safety.

• Execute all work with professionalism and care.
